Carolina Structural Systems started in Star, NC with our main office and manufacturing plant. Today, we also have a plant in Anderson, SC and will open our third near Emporia, VA in the fall of 2025. This strategically positions us to serve all the major Markets from Richmond, VA to Atlanta, GA. Our Company slogan and belief is simple: Attention to Detail. Likewise, our entire staff is dedicated to our Mission Statement: Provide quality products, on time, at a competitive price while providing world-class Customer Service. Carolina Structural Systems is focused on one objective: to provide the most efficient, cost-effective structural framing solution for our customer’s project.

Our entire staff is made up of Component and Engineered Wood Products professionals. We began operations at the end of 2016 and have grown rapidly since then due to the efforts of our talented staff and our dedication to Customer Service. Our only focus is to manufacture and distribute a full line of the Components and Engineered Wood Products required to complete your single-family, multi-family or light commercial project. We are subject-matter experts as it relates to helping you cost effectively solve your structural framing needs.

Open Web Floor Trusses

Much like our roof trusses, floor trusses are custom designed and fabricated to your plans. Open Web Floor Trusses provide a wide 3.5” nailing surface, long clear spans and the wide open space between the floor sheathing and ceiling material allows ample room for duct work, plumbing and electrical.

I-Joist

Are you looking for an efficiently framed, high-performance floor? I-Joist is the answer. The dimensional stability of I-Joist helps them resist warping, twisting and shrinking that can lead to squeaky floors. I-Joist are lightweight and come in long lengths, which makes them faster and easier to install than traditional framing and saves you both time and money.

LVL Beams & Columns

LVL is an industry leading beam solution. LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) is an efficient, strong and dimensionally stable alternative to other beams or beam materials. Readily available in 1 ¾” width x 9 ¼” through 24” depths, a single ply or multi-ply beam can be designed to carry even the heaviest loads.

We also carry a full line of LVL structural columns in a variety of sizes, including: 3.5”x5.25”, 3.5”x7”, 5.25”x5.25”, 5.25”x7” and 7”x7” in most lengths you can specify. Because they are made from LVL, our columns can handle tremendous loads that can occur when long beams are carrying the structural elements of the structure’s floor and/or roof.

Hangers and Connectors

We are proud to provide our customers with Hangers, Connectors and Fasteners by the experts at Simpson Strong-Tie. Simpson is the industry leader for connectors, anchors and tie-downs. They have a wide selection of standard shapes and sizes and can custom make virtually any structural connection your project might require.
